Cant download pictures from text messages android

I rooted it and put a custom rom on it and now it wont allow me to get any pics in a text message. i have trird many different rom and that didnt help either. I still cant figure how to fix this. If I do I will put the solution on here. And if u can recieve the text but can not download it then u have the mobile data working.
